Directors Statement:
It is a film about maternal love and parental neglect.
The mother, played by Verena Teresa Uyka, has always been in a kind of emergency state for me. She has to take care of the child and also run the bookstore, and at the same time she tries to love her child. But the child is perceived by both parents as an object of representation.
As a mother, she is the official issuing point for love and this is also expected of her. As soon as she focuses -"Now I'm in the role of a mother“ - everything is perfect. But the moment this focus is lost because something else gets her attention, everything collapses like a house of cards. That is why the metaphor of the house of cards is there at the end. And it is about her search for this love and her attempt and at the same time, the failure and the maintenance of this feeling.
